In the sequel to Alex and William's Excellent Adventure, Alex and Mom (Peggy) drove to New York, Boston and Maine. Along the way they stopped to visit towns that are potential colleges for Alex (Knoxville and Charlottesville) and a short side trip to Asheville to visit the Biltmore. Arriving in New York on Wednesday, they were met by Elizabeth and Bette, who had wisely chosen to fly instead of drive.
